Lovely dark berries and sweet spice from oak. If this was a claret, it would be twice the price #morgenhof #merlot #2011 #wine — 9 years ago
Fabulous Example of Ribera del Duero. Intense nose bursting with dark berry fruit and sensuous aromas of vanilla and cedar from oak. Palate rich and finally balanced, tannins gripping. Has long life ahead, but a pleasure to drink now, especially with cured meats and pinchos. — 10 years ago

Pineapple, melon and green apples nose. Zingy and citrusy with good body and length. Very fine indeed. — 9 years ago
Pure bright juicy berry fruit nose with a hint of sweet spice. Finely balanced palate with enough acidity and tannins to take on a chunky piece of meat. The adventurous should try it with fish - would be a great match for cod & chorizo stew. Fine quality wine. — 9 years ago
Nose indicating natural wine making. Bags of fruit, good balance and nice clean finish. A decent bottle of Beaujolais — 10 years ago
Very well made blend of Tempranillo - Syrah. Full bodied with dark berries, hints of chocolate and lots of sweet spice. Rather tannic, so needs food. — 9 years ago
Great wine at great price. Unmistakably Italian with bright cherry fruit and refreshing acidity. Look no further. — 9 years ago
Bright red fruit on the nose, clean palate with a typical italian high acidity. Not too complex, but beautifully complemented our meal of veal, rib eye and potato dauphinoise — 10 years ago

Very surprised by the good reviews - this wine has far too much sugar on the finish - yes, it's made from dried grapes, but so is Amarone, which most of the time manages to keep the balance right. Nose is ok, I'd say quite nice even, but it all gets negated by that far sugary finish. Maybe that's intentional and just not my style. Perhaps it should be drunk with dessert or cheese. — 9 years ago
