Very surprising, very different terroir and very new as well! Never tried a Japanese wine before. It has a recognizable smell though: a nice Chardonnay but not too expressive. Dry, very dry, we get citrus fruit on the palate with no buttery flavor. Quite young but a great discovery! — 9 years ago

Le Bourg Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc 2006
Probably one of the greatest wine I've ever tasted. It could've wait a little longer, but it was worth a shot! Great aromas on the nose of noble dust (and not in a bad way). We had to leave it alone for a while so the wine can develop on underbrush notes and lean towards mushroomy, to truffle characters. Very complex, very fresh on the palate as well, we got some red fruits flavors, strawberry, raspberry from 2006... but yet so fresh and so matured! Le Bourg is simply incredible, oh and the finish... you would not believe the length of this wine. Cabernet Franc at its finest! Perfection in a couple of years.

THE reference in Chinon. I opened the bottle 5 hours before drinking it (it needs it) since it is quite young but nonetheless charming, tasty and greedy too! Nice cassis notes with souple tannins, along with balanced vegetal flavors which makes Cabernet franc so special and this wine a real pleasure. — 9 years ago
