Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla began to produce quality wines from an indigenous varietal, Trebbiano di Lugana, and passed down through the generations. A blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and Croatina. Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits with sweet smoky notes. On the palate flavors of ripe currants and sweet berries with cacao, spice and nutty tones. Fine tannins, lingering, complex finish ending slightly creamy.

Rich juice with soft tannins and a sweet edge. Soothing, addicting finish.

Amarone excellence once again! 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella classico! Almost perfection in a glass! The color has the classic European brownish tint to the deep purple color. The bouquet has that ripe plum pudding and violets on a hot summer day. The palate is tantalized with sweet dark berries and cherries followed by spice and chocolate. Then flavors of cigar and leather fold in the dry finish with slight mint like tart ending. Yummy! My absolute favorite Amarone!

Amarone della Valpolicella classico 2013 Zenato. Primo!!!!!! I love this Italian Amarone. The nose presents with aromas of hot blueberry pie and purple fields of lavendar. The palate explodes with blueberries and blackberries and wild cherries. The mid palate is lovely with hints of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It is spicy and earthy. The finish is mildly dry with a twist of mint on the finish. And of course, overall, it has that dried fruit flavor similar to plums and raisins in a good way that the Amarone are famous for. A perfect wine!!!!! 60 dollars.
