Nicely balanced and fruity, with just the right tannins to make it right for patio time.

Rich lovely mouth feel, complex layering of fruit and dried fruit, with classic Italian acidity to cut through the carbonara’s richness.

Intriguing dark red core. Ripe fruit and a light herb and tobacco nose. Dark red fruit and figs up front, chocolate and a strong but sweet tobacco secondary flavor. Medium body and low acidity. Enjoyable tannin on finish. Definitely present but not too overpowering. It’s resembles a ripasso but the touch of watery but still somehow strong prune toward end makes it fall short of any ripasso I’ve had and knocks it just below a 9 for me. Don’t get me wrong this is a great value and experience. I really enjoy this. Started in 2012 so I’ll try more vintages than the two I’ve had so far. Fan of Zenato, it seems.

Blue and black fruit, some earth and leather. Terrific value for the price. Enough structure and tannins to keep for a bit. Balance of the bottle was still peasant >48 hrs after opening. Buy <$20.
