Solid Bordeaux. What makes it special is that we bought it at the Carrefour in Jinqiao, Pudong Shanghai, probably the best French wine supermarket collection in all of Asia.

A deep cherry wood, vanilla, tart red currant nose, with tinges of pepper and musty leather. On the palate, a complex, herb and leather theme is accented by oak, cherry, tobacco, and an uplifting, sour currant acidity. The finish carries these themes to a logical conclusion, with plenty of tense acids and medium tannins to keep the palate ready for the next sip. My favorite Bordeaux so far - that might not be saying much - but it was €6 😉
