Nose is fantastic. Puffs of smoke, rock, and some ripe red fruits. On the palate I'm a little disappointed. Blackberry jam, incisive acidity, trademark pepper, but a very clunky sour note mid palate that comes dangerously close to ruining it all. Maybe over the hill, or perhaps I was on the more unlucky end of the spectrum for vintaged bottle variation.

This wine showed brilliantly tonight. It has mellowed down and become quite light yet assertive. Nice developed tones and a bit gamey quality to it. Delicious. Went nicely with reindeer.

Incredibly aromatic. Could smell this thing forever and be satisfied. Bright flower bouquet, deep red fruit, elegant tannic structure, slight game to it. I really want to see the acid and fruit back off to see what develops.

Superb. Def need it to rest for a few years. Already very jammy—I wonder if the concentration will get more intense or if it will become more expansive and airy.

Wow! Beautifully complex. Blackberry compote, smoke, liquorice, black cherries, clove, black pepper, and plum jam.. Long finish and absolutely delicious!
