Young Ridge
Cabernet Sauvignon
14.42% alc. (I like precision 😁).
I don't think I've had a wine from them where I did not detect Brett so I assume that is their chosen "style".
I'm normally not a huge fan but in this vintage think it is kept at an acceptable level and thus making this wine more interesting.
Could be fun to throw it in blind with some older Bordeaux wines....

15.2% alc.
A pleasant surprise.
Having had several other (older) vintages from this winery I think this is their best to date.

Tasted Nov. 2014 - hanging on to life at age 11 this was probably more enjoyable a few years ago.
With a bit of Brett showing and probably very little new oak used in the vinification, this rather plain, uninspiring wine should be consumed sooner rather than later.

2004 vintage has held up well. Wine is smooth, soft tanins, and easy drinking!

Sep 22nd, 2024Spectacular and underrated Cab. Even more so given it’s a 2011, which wasn’t the greatest wine year for California
