A lovely nose - spice, earth and charcuterie. Really, the previous Delectable note said it all - “more Rhone than Barossa”. A medium weight savoury palate which worked well with home made pizza. With air the aromatics gave more dried meat and charcuterie notes..like a plate of freshly sliced Pastrami. Drinking at its peak I think, but will remain at this level until the end of the decade. Excellent.

Initially reductive with aromas of H2S which blew off. Vegetal stalky notes with red fruits. A medium weight palate with a little raspberry and those whole bunch stalky notes. Needed a little more mid palate fruit. In the elegant style - I have had better examples of Underhill. Had another bottle 90 weeks later on 20th January 2023 with similar notes. Vegetal notes not to be confused with H2S. More savoury, spicy than fruit driven. More Rhone than Barossa.

Bloody gorgeous! The fine grained tannins and the lovely acid line get me every time!

More approachable then Dry Red No.1 or No.2. Medium Bodied, succulent cool climate Shiraz. Silky, structured and elegant. Doesn't lack fruit flavour - red fruits blossom in your mouth. YY is the bomb! 93+ points.
