Aromas of Black currant, cassis, red florals, dark chocolate - a lovely perfume. Emphasising yet again that even though the Yarra does excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay it does Cabernet and blends the best. In a blind tasting I might have picked this as coming from SA (McLaren Vale or Clare Valley). With time a touch of capsicum and light pepper - medium weight but with M+ intensity. A brilliant effort and the last vintage of Dry Red No. 1 made by the originator and legend, Dr. Bailey Carrodus before his passing.

The Bordeaux blend...peppery, taught, red cherry. Pretty ripe for this wine, though in a good way.

In its prime. Opened a day after trying the 100pt 2021 at the winery. The 2005 is a different beast entirely as it was made by Bailey Carrodus and the 2021 by Sarah Crowe the current winemaker. So much brambly fruit with rich opulence underpinned by fine tannins. Wonderful mature wine.

Still just a baby! Complex and layered Bordeaux blend with a classic flavor profile. Herbaceous and peppery with a deep red fruit base! Velvet-y in only ways super elegant wine is!
