Yann Chave rocked '13! This has serious stuffing for longevity. Still rocking on day 3. Buy and lay 'em down.

Richer, darker fruit, pepper, bitter green herb, smoke. A little hot, a good amount of oak. Young and bold. Needs time.

Solid effort from Yann Chave! This is northern Rhone Syrah in spades. Blackberry, blueberry, delicious briny olives, cracked pepper, granite mineral character, a bit of drying lavender, and just a tiny smidge of beef blood (mostly on the nose) to add to that lovely umami character I love in northern Rhone Syrahs. Full bodied with medium (+) fine-grained tannin, with nice med/med.(+) acidity to still keep it lively and fresh enough. Real tasty juice; went great with the nice bistro pepper steak we ate for dinner.

Edit: on day three, that nice Northern Rhone smoked meat character started to emerge a bit; very pleasant. Make sure to decant at least an hour and a half if you're going to drink he whole bottle in one evening.

Blueberry and blackberry fruit with cracked black pepper. Medium bodied with sweet, bright, ripe fruit and lovely, mouthwatering acidity. Tannin sneaks in on the finish. I only bought one of these. Gonna head back for at least another to crack open in about two years. Excellent Crozes-Hermitage.

Still a bit early to drink this one. Very little fruit on the nose even after some air time (subtle blackberry and cassis). Most present is the cracked pepper and earth. Hints of leather and strong acidity and tannins promise longevity.

Drank 2013 vintage in May 2015. Good drop, if perhaps a little young. Would be interesting to try this again in a few years.
