McLaren Vale Old Vine Grenache

Great surprise here. Top-notch Grenache, old vines, true to grape and place, very well made and delicious. Totally would have glanced this over but happy to taste and be humbled.

From 71 year old vines. Warm baked fruits of; blueberries, plum & mixed ripe wild berries on the nose with fresh dark florals. There's also a slight touch of VA. Fruits on the the palate match the nose and are; soft, ripe & elegant. Beautiful in the mouth with soft tannins, red & purple fresh florals, dry earth with crushed rocks, blueberry cola, nice acidity with a round ripe polished finish.

Fantastic McLaren Vale Grenache from 70+ yr old vines in dry farmed sandy soil. Biodynamic estate too. Classic ripe strawberry and black pepper with a little wet tobacco leaf.
