See previous Delectable notes from 2021 and 2022. Always a class act from Tom Carson and in the top echelon of Pinots from Mornington Peninsula. A beautiful red fruited perfume with stewed fruits. A percentage of whole bunch in the ferment. Richness on the palate with depth. A well made wine from a good vintage. Lucky I have one left.

Mid Ruby in colour. Red fruits of cherry and strawberry with a bit of whole bunch influence on the nose. The palate showing savoury red fruits but also a little sweetness. Certainly a good future in front of it - I should try the next one in 1 to 2 years time. Tom Carson has probably never made a bad wine in his life and he has a great terroir to work with when he is not in demand for judging at Royal Shows. Tasted another bottle 65 weeks later on 24th July 2022. Quite red cherry on the nose and palate. Sooty notes from whole bunch in the ferment. The perfect balance between sweet and savoury.

Had a bottle of this 2 years ago after it scooped the pool at the Royal Brisbane Wine Show. I canโ€™t see why it got the accolades - an excellent Pinot Noir no doubt but not Champion Red of the Show. Colour of mid crimson with dark cherry. Initially on opening some oaky varnishy notes with stalkiness. On palate good intensity where the savouriness presides over the fruit dry cherry flavours. Will cellar.

Disappointing ๐Ÿ˜ข .
It has been awarded best red wine of Australia ๐Ÿ™„
Expectations are too high
It is quite short and not fresh for me. 2014 was far better.

Pale Ruby. Sooty Earthy Ground Coffee notes with stewed fruits. Palate of medium plus intensity, great length and balance with quite supple tannins for a one year old wine. Delicious palate showing savoury stewed fruit and palate cleansing acid. This wine scooped the pool at the recent Brisbane Wine Show winning Best 1 year old red; Best Pinot Noir and Champion Red Wine of the Show. Well done Yabby Lake and Tom Carson.

Amazing intensity. Cherry, and dark fruit, combined with perfect acid spine. Round ripe fruit but super fresh with super grip. With the boys in Wooli. Superb.
