Xavier Monnot
Clos des Chênes Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir

100$. Not worth it. Fresh, seems rustic, crushed marble, red fruit, Kirsch. Very acidic and tannic, and unhinged for a 15‘. Give it perhaps more time. Uninspiring.

Easter and birthday dinner - notes of cherry, mushroom, some sweet floral. Drier than the 2012 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir we had earlier this year. Soft tannins.

Medium course tannins. Aromas of earth and bacon. Dark cherry fruit. Minimal improvement on day 2

Mar 18th, 2018A good easily drinkable wine that expresses the feminine side of Pinot Noir that is typical in Volnay. Soft subtle fruit., smooth easy finish. Delicious if not overly complex.
