Phaedrus St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon

Delicious St Helena cab - perfumed, black plums, winter spices.

Really well made I thought it was worth way more.

Light cab sav. Easily drinkable without food but would also be great with steaks. This would please anyone.

I thought this was mildly disappointing. It lacked the structure and the body of the estate cab, which I think is fabulous in most vintages.

Made from younger vines, which is noticeable in the tannins; they just aren’t as fine as in the Estate Cab. There’s less elegance here, overall, compared to that wine, but there’s plenty to please the palate anyway.

Well balanced.

Nice surprise on a great (but pricey) list. Structure and fruit coming together for a seamless beam of black fruit, dusty finish. Light sweet oak tannins that I suspect were harsh when this was bottled. Long. Sexy aromatics. Will find more of these.
