Jun 8th, 2024Nose is all mid season red cherries, cherry flower and so so pure. Mulberry, cranberry bog and so much more. Lipstick like intensity and just so focused and clear. Insane nose. Unreal limestone and depth but also it’s like it’s vibrating on its own plain. Wow what a palate. Juicy and structured with just silly good cherry fruit of the early to mid season style and unreal clarity, focus and linearity. Unreal concentration and depth. So stunning and like a squeegee on the palate. Now some violets on the nose and unreal concentration and sorry but light and ethereal. Stunning beyond belief.After air it gets more supple and textured. All red fruit on the palate.

Super QPR. So gorgeous is the fruit here it’s easy to miss the refined structure. Dark cherry & rhubarb notes. So enjoyable & not complicated but not one note either

Elegant tannins and really clingy fruit. Sappy and dense but also a bit truncated and needs air. Palate is blackberry and black cherry. So silky. So impressive. Juicy and so concentrated. Tiny berry fruit explosion and toothsome. Wow. Let’s see where air takes this.

Are you kidding me. Insane purity. Wood shavings. Blackberry flower. Dense and pure with great acids. Superb ripe tannins. So pure. Tangy, lifting fruit. Wonderful. Darker fruits than 2019. Schlossberg Pinot is in this for first time. Noble and elite nose. Tiny berry fruit. Explosive. Best ever version.

Aug 18th, 2022Lovely nose. Brambly spices and mega cherries. Loads of minerals. Alive and just so aromatic. Seems to be in the zone. Wow. 9.4 nose. So good now. Palate is elegant, sweet and complex with major minerality. Lovely toothsome quality and black cherries on the finish. This is really transforming with age into something essentially German. Sappy and a hint of rusticity make this utterly charming. Long finish. Wonderful wine and value.

The palate has incredible sweet fruit. So sappy and elegant! Yes this year this has elegance. Nimble and so red Riesling. What inner mouth aromas. Complex, concentrated and so pure. As this airs it’s like a blackberry jam/perfume with black cherries. What an insane wine! $24.99 is just a joke. Amazing grip and palate presence and what energy. Just sick. 9.49. Almost a 9.5!

The best value Pinot value play in the Rheinhessen IMHO. Amazingly deep nose. So deep. So classy. Dark tee cherries. Violets. Layered, delicate and intense. Wow this nose smells like grand cru. It’s seriously the best nose I’ve ever smelled on this wine. It’s so refined and vivid. Palate is sweet, layered, structured and complex. This needs air but man is it all there. Big vivacious tannins and incredible sap and structure. Fresh and dense. What energy and depth. Big clamps down on the finish. Really long. I’ll be back in an hour. After air the nose gets more brambly. Palate gets even sweeter but high acid and nice sour cherries to counterbalance.
