How can I write a note on this? It’s perfect. Elegant. Refined. Red fruits. This is poetry. White pepper. Just a miracle.

Wow. Just wow. This nose has unlimited depth. Huge dark cherries. Black. Red. Dark red. Stunning limestone. Blackberry as well. Just huge, dense, but serene. Spice. A new nuance every time I stick my large nose in the glass. Palate is painfully intense and has a kaleidoscopic intensity. Ungodly sweet fruit and a huge limestone mineral wash but in classic Holle fashion this is around 10% of its potential upon opening and the finish is again clipped like the 19 Holle Riesling. The nose has almost a macerated cherry effect. The balance and length are perfect but it’s a donut wine right now with a big gaping hole in the the middle. It will bialyize soon. The nose is at a 9.7 now. I know the palate will catch up. The nose has some of the most stunning fruit ever. Truly wow. The finesse is starting as are the sweet inner mouth aromas and the tannins are sweet and so fine. Really profound length and such a finesse. I can see why Piggott gave this 99. I’m not quite there yet but I might with air. Getting super tangy and even more black cherry fruited. What a finish. Sneakily long. 9.6 to 9.8 with air. Just so elegant and seamless. Mind blowing.

No formal notes. Brought to a podcast. Took one hour then nimble, sweet and elegant. Long.

Nose starts off somewhat muted. Probstey 2017 from a warmer site started off more ebullient a few months ago. But this is unfurling. Raspberry, black raspberry, maraschino cherry on the ripe nose. Underpinning of minerality. Floral. Very pretty, airy and refined. Palate has tremendous linearity. Super juicy, with tangy early season and sour cherry fruit that has a wonderful texture then finishes with firm but velvety and sweet tannins. Terrific acids and freshness. Still not as expressive as it could be. Maybe needs 5-7 hours and 3-4 more years.

After 5 hours the fruit has sweetened up big time. Awesome. Nose still a bit reticent.

Raspberry, raspberry floral, lilacs, violets, unreal aromas, pastille like and superb minerality, superb sweetness, amazing, richness, amazing fruit set. So so long and fresh. Energy and opulence combined. That’s something, concentrated, pure. Cherry flower and limestone.

Such a great wine. I love the Hölle from Thörle. Floral, berry, delicate nose, so so floral. Heavenly. Berry fruit. Cherries. Palate is so decadent and juicy but flooded with minerality and freshness. Rieslingesque. Velvety but firm and sweet tannins. Stunning purity. So complete. A baby still but wonderful to drink anyway.

Just a beautiful wine and easy 1er Cru quality from a serious village like Gevrey. What a nose. Earthy perfumed and brambly fruit. Palate has awesome structure and juiciness with a great core of minerality. So juicy with awesome sweetness. Great great balance. This will age for 10 years. Wonderful wine.

Very mineral nose. Citrusy and earthy. Elegant texture, streamlined and focused with very juicy fruit. Concentrated and so pure. Texture is on point and the tannins are velvet.
