Deep violets and black cherry. Pungent and so intense. Blackberry flower and black cherry. Pencil lead. Explosive palate and juicy and with velvety and juicy fruit and terrific acids. Long and velvety finish.

Nose is red cherries, licorice, limestone, woodland berries, wet forest floor and dampen earthy scents. Great floral depth as well. Palate is juicy, clean and ripe. Tannins are significant, pure and velvety but also have a tiny hard edge. Juicy depth of lovely tangy cherries persist on the long finish. Tannins are a bit drying as this airs. I think drink up.

Wow. This nose is psycho. Floral. Volatile aromas. Dirt. Tree bark. So floral. Really floral. Violets. Wow that palate. Sweet fruit. Stunning ripe tannins. Gorgeous. Amazing. Wow. Echoing. Wow. This is absurd. Out of this world finish.

The first whiff you know you’re in the presence of greatness. Soaring, vivid cherry fruit. Just towering in its vividness and intensity. Smokey and just a gobsmack to the nostrils of pure minerality that is just so clear. Just a wow nose. Thorle 19 Pinots hit different. It’s a cherry stank. Tiny berry but also big perfectly ripe berries. This jumps like few noses can. The palate is just elite sweetness with even more elite elegance. This wine floats. No stinging like a bee. Just the butterfly part. The dark cherries just abound on the nose and the palate. Just the best Probstey by miles. And 18 is great! Look at my note! But it’s not this. A heavenly perfume after air. The palate is so complete and the elegance is best I’ve ever had at Thorle. But that fruit is so on point and so clear. Wow is this getting long. Another level. This wine is another level entirely of German Pinot. It gets sweeter, deeper and more elegant. An Asian spice is in the nose now. This is firmly in the Vosne Romanee camp of German Pinot.

Holy moly. This is psychotic. What a nose. Deep, penetrating, wild cherries, forest floor, so so perfumed. An earthy sweetness is just overwhelming. Amazing. So elegant and delicate. Yet so deep and vivid. Best young Probstey Pinot nose ever. Just ridiculous. Palate is sweet, dense and so clear. The clarity on this is bananas. Sweet, silky and super deep. Velvety tannins and so much energy. Terrific wood spice on the nose. Adds so much. Complexity on fleek. Almost painful concentration. Amazing cherries. A literal tiny berry fruit cherry explosion. Genius. Finish is all limestone, sweet cherries and velvet. A masterpiece.

Coiled and nervous. Needs time to shine but all the fruit is on point.

Out of the gates this nose soars over 16. Woodsmoke, high toned mid season cherries, spice and huge minerality, such an awesome perfume. Enveloping and wafting. Smokey as well. Palate is intense and so sweet with lovely freshness and mega red cherries and with some serious tiny berry fruit intensity. So velvety and just amazing palate presence. So deep, so much fruit and wonderful velvety tannins. Killer. So so long. Tasted twice since January and consistent notes. Brilliant wine. So much energy and freshness. What a finish teeming with minerals and lovely sweet cherry fruit. Awesome texture.
