Passover wine. Kosher by decree of Rabbi Sheldon. How is this night different from all other nights...

My baby among the Giants tonight. Every time I open one of these 2011 tastes more like the #chateauneufdupape it was modeled after.

Really fun to revisit this especially alongside the 2012. Amazing what 5% more Syrah and 5 more years in the bottle will do for a wine.

The #delectableapp faux pas of posting your own juice, sure but I hadn't had the '08 for days. The smoke and power of the syrah is mellowing out and the subtle red fruit of grenache is coming out to play. Fun to be a part of something this alive and dynamic. I guess that's why we do this...

This wine's evolution has been amazing. Tonight it started with blackberry pie and opened into sagey ganja and cured pancetta. Drinkable but still such a baby.

A grenache/Syrah blend, berry quality, quite lively, with restraint somehow.

Enjoying watching/drinking this fine thing as it opens/morphs its magic with steak tartare and heirloom radishes @ Sonoma's The Girl & The Fig. Black to red fruit on first blush coating front center and back silk clothes clinging to cool skin slow dancing its way home... Salute
