Garnet color. Beautiful nose, leathery and herbal. Dark fruit on the palate, and subtle oak spice. Mushrooms, forest floor, and a slight bitter streak underneath. Mellow acidity, and mostly resolved tannins. Elegant, great balance, excellent with duck breast and morels. PnP after standing up for a couple of days to get some flaky sediment to settle. Best on day one.

Oct 9th, 2017This is lovely tonight. Very aromatic with raspberry, sandalwood, and Asian spices. On the palate, nearly weightless with intense red fruit and spice and a long finish. Great acidity and balance.

Jul 24th, 2017Just gorgeous! Red fruit and spice with a supple texture. I think this is entering its peak drinking window, but should stay on that plateau for a very long time.

May 31st, 2017This is drinking beautifully right now. Nose of roses, orange zest, sandalwood, and wild berries. So lithe and supple on the palate. Just hauntingly beautiful.

Feb 19th, 2017A plummy nose with raspberry sherbet. A hint of butterscotch, then a damson mid-palate. Almost merlot-like. Clearly Californian, but well balanced. Clear and long. A touch confected but enjoyable
