White pepper, thyme, white flowers, underripe pear, subtle nectarine and a little delicious baby aspirin.

Feb 16th, 2020Awesome single-site biodynamic Grüner from the Wagram. Wonderful purity, freshness and herbaceousness; really puts the "Grüner" in Grüner Veltliner. Nose of just-ripe green apple and starfruit, gobs of fresh jalapeño, tarragon, and cilantro, crushed stone and new asphalt, and some subtle orange blossom floral character. Palate echoes the nose with ringing clarity and great length. High acidity and a medium (-) body with great texture and the tiniest bit of tannin lent by what I'm guessing is a short period of skin contact (the picture doesn't reflect it accurately but the color, a yellow hue of decent concentration, is indicative of this as well) make for a wine that is both nimble and lush on the palate. Dry but not bone-dry. Really great value for high-quality Austrian Grüner with a sense of craft and place.

Feb 19th, 2017Very fresh, clean nose with notes of peach, apricot, citrus and a touch of herb. Full and rich on the palate with full minerality. Flavors of citrus, stone fruit and green pear lead to bright acidity, herbs de Provence and white pepper. The finish is long and bright.
