Ferrington Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

Could use a few more years in the bottle.

Dark ruby color in the glass. Subtle nose with bright but silky fruit on initial taste. Maybe boysenberry or cranberry on the finish. The dark ruby look does not tie in with the light elegance of the wine. Paired nicely with fish and chicken.

Not bad, just flat & no personality. No idea why…

This cornerstone Pinot vineyard in Anderson Valley is known for powerful fruit, and this vintage is a great example. The knock is that the fruit expression is obvious and more one-dimensional than pinot from, say, Sonoma or Willamette Valley. I like this wine and the work Kevin Harvey has done with Rhys in Anderson Valley - but the jury is still out in my mind - I’m not convinced it will become a great region for Pinot noir...

Spicy with dark fruit. Balanced as expected. Lovely.

Brighter acidity and a shorter finish than the Burt Williams. Delicious red fruits were dominant on the palate.

Thin on nose, well balanced w a bit of cedar, nice silky finish
