While baking some ANZAC cookies recently I tucked into this little gem from Wicks Estate in South Australia. It’s a 2016 Shiraz from 17 year old vines which spends 12 months in 20% new French oak barrels prior to bottling.
It’s a super dark plum red colour in the glass. Peppered dark fruits, baking spice and tobacco come through on the nose for me. While in the mouth it’s juicy with apparent tannins, elegant oak and plentiful cherry 🍒 flavours. A great companion for the home baker 👩🍳
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
