Family owned Wicks Estate are located in SA’s Adelaide Hills. This 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a new release from this premier cool climate region. It’s been awarded numerous high scores including 96 points in James Halliday’s Wine Companion.
It’s a deep ruby red colour in the glass. Soft blackberry and cherry fruit come through on the nose with hints of mint chocolate and earth too. In the mouth it’s full of juicy dark fruit flavours, elegance and is wonderfully soft and plush in texture with satin like tannins. It made for highly enjoyable drinking out of my Cab Sauv varietal specific Riedel glass 👌

Very fruity, with a ripeness more expected from a Shiraz. Heady nonetheless, with a rich but balanced structure.
