Fourth of July wine. Medium-full bodied with well balanced tannins and acidity. Leather, blackberry, baking spices, vanilla, and apricot notes. Paired extremely well with smoked BBQ.

Definitely worth trying, some tannins at the start that opened up after a little exposure; notes of blackberry with some earthiness and a slight oakiness at the end.

There is a particular rose petal aroma that I get from Virginia petit verdots and this wine has it. The nose is intense with smoke, earth, plum, bramble, nutmeg, sweet tobacco, and a bit of leafiness. Palate is just a bit rustic in texture but has fruit and acidity shining through in a beautiful balance. The only down note is that the finish is a bit short. Still a really nice wine.
