Westerly Wines
Estate Reserve Côte Blonde Syrah

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose with plums, black currants, cherries, light vanilla, oak, spices, licorice, mint, light barnyard, oregano, Middle Eastern spices, earth, leather, tobacco, light vegetables and black pepper.
Medium plus in body and smooth with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, currants, vanilla, licorice, cloves, oak, leather, herbs, peppercorn, bitter vegetables, tobacco, graphite and light milk chocolates.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very nice Syrah from California. Features a tangy ending with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, but much better as it opens up. The high alcohol is not very noticeable here.
Would be better in a couple of years and will age nicely in the next 7 to 10 years. A little high on the acidity still, and would pair with food very nicely.
Showing a very unique nose and palate, after 2 hours of opening up, so take your time and wait for it.
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
A blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined.
15.7% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$45.

Total disclosure – this is not my kind of wine. I can appreciate the fact that it’s very well constructed and the wine is showing well if you are a fan of super ripe, extracted wine.

Great for $18.00,
Good for Winery price of $40.00,
Glad I bought 6 bottles on Last bottle sale, once or twice a month they have nice juice on their website at rock bottom price. But don't be fooled by price, still needs a nice decant to thicken up,
