Cherry liqueur on the nose, palate is silky, light to mid weight, with more cherries, raspberry, vanilla and rose petals. Hits the Cali Pinot notes and well balanced, very enjoyable, but lacks a certain delicacy and distinctiveness of my fave examples

This is the USC cuvee. They chose 2 parcels from the vineyard for USC's own wine..
the result is super impressive. Burgundian in balance with that dark fruit that is typical of Santa Rita. Could be mistaken for a premier cru Nuit St Georges

Refreshing acidity and big fruit at the beginning of the palate and merciful tannins. Some unpleasant burnt char and ash ruining what otherwise would have been a lovely finish. But overall a serviceable effort from Sta. Rita.
