Tasted another bottle. Founded in 1883, Wente Vineyards is the country’s oldest family-owned winery. From a Single Vineyard Pinot Noir in Arroyo Seco, aromas of pure fruit and complex floral spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with black tea and herb spice. Firm tannins with a soft edge, well balanced, nice length ending with a fruit character. Nice easy drinking now Pinot!

Drank during COVID-19 lockdown. Okay, but wouldn’t buy again at this price point ($25-$30)

Nicely open knit style to it, not jammy but definitely red fruit and sunny days on the beach kind of vibe. Nose of figs, earthy and a hint of spice, still a youthful deep red colour. Resolves with a hint of sweetness but quite refreshing and picnic styled. Not bad at all. Found at bishops cellar in downtown Halifax for about $40.

Nice California Pinot. Shiny of raspberries. Some tannins. Needs about an hour to open up. Went well with lamb kofta and grass dead steak

A light easy drinking Pinot Noir. Not spectacular, but very nice.

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a purplish rim.

Nose of plums, pomegranate juice, strawberries, spices, wood, cloves, red candy, cola and light black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, plums, vanilla, oak, espresso, caramel, spices, peppercorn and smoke.

Medium plus in finish with soft tannins and tart raspberries.

This is an above average Single Vineyard Pinot Noir. Good right out of the bottle. Simple, well balanced and enjoyable.

Good by itself or with food, and good for parties. The tangy finish is interesting and entertaining.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
