Dark garnet-ish lightly glass-coating purple in the glass. Cassis, ash, and cigar box on the nose. Echoed on the palate with firm tannins and medium plus acidity. Long, dark tarry finish. New World fruit with an Old World ethos making it just as “food friendly” as wine is supposed to be, and still going strong thirteen and a half years on. I’m enjoying mine with beef stew in the aftermath of a classic nor’easter. Don’t wait for one in your region.

Mar 8th, 2018Deep glass-clinging ruby garnet. Nose of cassis and vanilla. Full body and medium acidity. Cassis and coffee on the palate. Medium but present tannins and medium long finish. Very nice drink now.

Mar 13th, 2015Leftover beef short ribs, mashed potatoes, asparagus, butter roasted radishes, and beet salad. Topped off with a 2006 Wellington Victory. I know it’s Tuesday, but why not treat ourselves?

Jul 3rd, 2023As always, Wellington Victory makes an otherwise ordinary occasion something truly special. A little decanting, and it’s perfect.

Oct 12th, 2022Nice way to celebrate a birthday, at a really nice chophouse. Everything you could possibly want in a Bordeaux style blend. Alas, with Peter retired over 6 years now, our supply is dwindling. Fortunately, every bottle is a real treasure.
