The nose was almost savory in it's display of floral undergrowth, saline-minerality, rosemary and lime zest, as notes of honeysuckle and ripe apple came forward with time in the glass. On the palate, I found a zesty expression, yet ultimately with soft textures, showing salty citrus, wild herbs, green apple and wonderfully balanced acidity. It finished on saturating minerality, with ripe apple and an almost oily textural coating on the senses.

These Spätlese trocken Rieslings continue to blow my mind. I could smell this all day and be happy without ever taking a sip. Sweet petrol and flowers galore. Comparable to walking into a blooming garden after a rainstorm. Nose gives you a million and one reasons to believe it will be sweet, and then the palate is bone crushing dry. Going from sweet, canned stone fruit on the nose to underripe fruit on the palate. Crisp and firm - almost interrupting dry acidity, palate gives you green apple, pear, melon rind and citrus peel. Almost all floral elements completely extinguished. I can't get over these wines.

Acidity is bright, wine is bone dry, just the way I like it. Awesome mouth feel, fantastic Riesling from the motherland at a good price!

Don’t think this is a spatlese. It’s bone dry. Opened a bit muted but a decant and some air changed things and citrus came along with minerals and the wine’s power came through. Probably would benefit from some short term cellaring.
