Jul 11th, 2025Stunning nose. Slate magnified by a telescope. Slate expression is unreal. Also some sweet plantains and vanilla extract. Blueberry. Some vulcanized rubber. Superb finesse and concentration. Wow the dry extract on this is insane. What a core. So intense and deep. A palate that is slightly confectionary. Just a beast but an elegant beast. One of the best Kabinetts I’ve ever had. Herbal nose and herbal palate. Shockingly cerebral. For MENSA users. Finish is sweet greens. Wow the mineral acid crunch.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2022 Kabinett pours a deep straw color with medium- viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe orchard and tropical fruit: apple, pear, pineapple, honey, petrol, and slate for dayzzzzzz. On the palate, the wine is off-dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose and there’s a slight effervescence that dissipates after 20min in the glass. The finish is long. This is phenomenal Kabinett and simply brilliant with our meal. The fruit is so pure. Wow. Drink now through 2042. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass
