Holy cherry coke in a wine. That's my main note and goodness am I INTO it. This is like an alcoholic gourmet cherry soda with the wee-est hint of something green and garrigue to keep the wine nerd interested

Mar 11th, 2016Have you discovers Baden's Pinots yet? If not, here's one you might want to start with! My only caution is to alert you to the small"CS" you see here below the vintage date - that little symbol is the only visible oxidation separating this wine from its less expensive sibling. Tart red cherries and spice notes reminiscent of Santa Cruz Mountains Pinots!

A bit too restrained for my taste and not enough classic Pinot Noir character yet a pleasing wine that complimented the richness of the partridge quite well.

This Spätburgunder - or Pinot Noir to you and me - smells just like something from the Russian River Valley. Light and earthy and spicy, so good. Nice minerality.

Half decent but not overly inspiring. There are many cheaper varietals of Baden Spätburgunder available that are far superior, admittedly maybe not available in the US.
