Weingut Pittnauer
Pitti Burgenländer Red Blend
One of those wines that the Wine Society pushes you towards, and always enjoy. Doesn't really feel like a Burgundy Pinot Noir or for that matter a Californian one. It has a cool, crisp core with cherry and raspberry, and a very smooth and rounded finish. Surprisingly heavyweight for a £9 wine.

Oct 2nd, 2013Another go-to at the local co-op, where I'm getting much of my glou from during this Covid summer. Too hot to ship, too risky running in too many shops. Anyway, a brooding pinot-y blend of zweigelt and blaufränkisch with a splash of merlot. Cherry and rose up front, earthy sous bois finish. 🍒🐿️
