Pretty tasty though still too young. Better close to room temperature.

Deep and interesting. Green apple with a bit of herbal green notes. A lot of complex layers worth exploring more.

Vegetal, herbaceous, savory, mineraly, and gingery. Fruits are on the riper stone verging on tropical. Moderate minus acidity and fuller bodied than most Grüner.

Incredible! So layered. We had so much to say about this wine but that was a while ago. I only remember high tones, herbaceous with slight ginger from botrytis.

Lime, grapefruit, white flowers, Cheerios, seaweed, tomato stem, and whopping doses of white pepper and ginger on the finish. The sheer intensity of this Federspiel makes an enormous impression with its depth, bracing acidity, gripping salinity and nervy kinetic energy. Knoll’s Gruner remain among the finest, in this case capturing the entire spectrum of what the varietal can express. Salinity, savory herbs and minerality, fresh and vibrant fruit, vegetal components and the stinging peppery flourish- it’s all there. But even at this degree of ripeness you will find this wine imbued with a textural richness that sets Knoll apart from so many other producers. A complete wine with both intellectual and sensual appeal that delights the senses and sparkles on its own but is sure to elevate many exotic foods to their fullest potential. Superb.

Very pure Gruner character, green apple and lime, with filigree and tension. An amazing value to boot as well. In 2015 Knoll knocked it out of the park.

1998 vintage. Still so much acidity and bits of green peppercorns on palate.
