En Magnum. Built like a tank! High acid, massive extract, super pungent, crazy mineral, extra concentrated herbal lemon drop. This is riesling turned up to 11 (on a scale of 10)!

As much as this does not fit in my M.O. for riesling drinking, I can't help but be impressed with Becker's Edition Jean Baptist. Undeniably high octane, especially at 14% abv, but unbelievably balanced and pure. The wine needs heaps of time to hit full stride - best after 2 days of aeration. Intense aromas of exotic fruits and herbs. Think candied lemon, pineapple, and even jackfruit. On the palate, the structure is immense. Luscious crystalline fruit sitting on enamel-melting acidity and minerality directly extracted from liquid rock. You can definitely feel some warmth in the finish, but the length is incredible. This is Rheingau, old-school in its full glory!
