Weingut Grans-Fassian
Alte Reben 'L' Trocken Riesling

One of my Mosel favorites, from a hyper & stellar vintage... and a bit strange. Pure, precise & beautifully balanced - juicy, citrus acidity, sweet apricots & white peach, on a slaty, mineral foundation. Yet all this seems... flawed? There’s a slightly bitter, herby, medicinal note - both on the nose & palate. Is this a flaw? A dud?
Will have to open another bottle to find out - I refuse to accept that GF produced a bad wine in 2019.

Juicy fruitiness (white peach & a touch of lemon) well paired with great precision & balance and flinty minerality. Long, layered, delicious and far from obvious.
