Jun 27th, 2017Perfectly aged Spatlese from top producer. Apricot and apples in the aroma. Good acidity, vibrant fruit on palate. Lingering sweet fruit finish. Golden color. Drink up.

Jul 10th, 2016This one's much more about the fruit than the 1971. Aromas of red cherries, mulled apples, fruity creamy pastry fillings, and white chocolate. Plenty going on, but all on the sumptuous side of things. The taste isn't so dissimilar to the '71 with that classic Mosel apple fruit, though here it's softer and rounder.

Oct 17th, 2015This was impressive, and definitely more intriguing than the '76. A much deeper funk to the aromas, not so much fruit here as a singed gaminess; think crispy skin over an open fire. Classic mature riesling apple flavors on the palate, not unlike the '76, except here it's much more focused and acute. This checks off all the boxes - richness and precision with plenty complex flavors too.
