Moderate reddish purple in color. Expressive nose of cherries, dark berries, cloves, and earth. On the palate, it is medium bodied with ripe red fruit, velvety tannins, medium acidity, and very nice balance finishing with a bit of spice. Although Prieler is a top Austrian producer of Blaufränkisch, this is their entry-level offering which makes me even more eager to further explore this variety.
