What a wine. Westhofen continuing to challenge my Mosel loyalty. Richly spiced nose - allspice inflected apricots and rocks, with some of that lanolin character, which I sometimes find in riper Riesling. Full and weight in the mouth, with apricot/rainier cherry fruit, broad but focused. The finish is all Riesling - full of zip and drive. Long. Jochen Dreissigacker clearly paid close attention during his time with Keller.

Touch of green on the nose. Citrus oil. Big, ripe and lots of cherry fruit. Very pure. Excellent juiciness but seems lacking something. It's good, don't get me wrong but something is amiss. Could be young.

Very excited about these wines. Jochen Dreissigacker worked at Keller for 3 years and his plot of Kirchspeil is adjacent. Similar depth of character in both producers.
