On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor David Newman is leading a live-to-picture performance of Leonard Bernstein’s score for “West Side Story”, originally directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, and with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.) The BSO installed very fancy and large LED screens on the perimeter of the Shed facing the Lawn, amazing!
Loving this bottle, notes are a little different tonight, citrus pith, green apple and cooked grain (oh so faint tho). The show ended and we finished this in the parking lot as we waited for the insane traffic to dissipate. So much better once it warms up. 3hr decant before the show.

Pebbles in the mouth, a light green herbal aspect I can't pin down, fresh citrus pith. Dry finish. Way too easy to drink, damn.
Update: Ok, this bottle needs a ton of air, stunning now, almost Chablis-like in minerality and fruit/acid levels.

I love Rheinhessen Silvaner when done right. This is a doozy. Gorgeous herbal nose. Some cooling blue fruits as well and minerals. Concentrated, energetic and complex. Very mineral palate with hints of tangerine. Lovely balance and freshness but super duper mineral.

Oct 4th, 2017I categorically do not like this wine. It tastes too good and I drink it too fast. Touch of sweetness on attack with a dry finish. I could drink a lot of this.

Light summer wine acidic and smooth not overly sweet a little tart. Really enjoyable alone or with salad or fish. I had it with a spinach salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing paired well.

Wow. Very surprised. The Sylvaner is less fruity than normal. Nose is mineral as is the palate. Fruit is controlled tropical with great acidity. Really delicious. Amazing for the price. Bought from fass selections.
