Just a stunning German Pinot. Impossibly complex nose of sweet red cherries, a hint of tree bark, some herbs, and just unreal black cheries and it’s so spacious and wide. This is singing my goodness. Spices galore and this smells like Vosne Romanee. 9.7 nose. Not kidding. It’s so focused and once it airs deep florals like mashed violets start to come and a gorgeous background of minerality. Palate, initially is a bit behind the nose but it will come as it is all there. Silky and sweet with mid season cherries and some intense black cherries and but it’s so fresh and so energetic as the acid is just unreal. Terrific inner mouth aromas and wonderful freshness and energy and high class tannins that are ripe and sweet. This has serious structure and will last 15+ years easy. Let’s see how this evolves. This is loosening up on the palate and the concentration is awesome as is how delicate and lacey it is.
