Wild berry pie

Raspberry jam, flinty prune and dried dark cherries. A sting of mole on the back end, with the tannins and acidity working perfectly.high alcohol, with little heat. Love it when a winery can work with its ripe, expressive fruit.
This does need time to open, and time to sit.

Color of dark purple, quite clear and a bit inky. Nose of nice cocoa, dark cherry, spices, ripe grapes, oak, vanilla and tobacco leaves, and strength of alcohol. Nose is quite fragrant. Taste of refined tannins, nice subtle acidity, nice dark fruits of cherry and grapes, oak, spic, mineral and zest, a bit vanilla and minty, and hint of sweetness. All flavors in harmony. Aftertaste is medium long and savory. Nice one!

Last time I had this vintage was 3 years ago and it is still fabulous! The nose still gives you a nice punch in the face and the fruit just does not quit on the taste! Love it.
