Bright straw. Flinty yellow apples on the nose. Echoed on the palate adding honeysuckle and citrus rind with firm (medium plus) acidity balancing a slightly oily mouthfeel. Medium short, earthy finish. A remarkably pure example of what the Finger Lakes can do with the variety. Slightly sweet now, but will show a bit more savory over time. Germans, look out. Pair with all but the most delicate sea foods. Drink now through 2028.

Friday night random whites...
A little sweeter style than I typically favor, nice mineral/petrol nose, under-ripe pineapple. Palate is fruity for a Riesling, finish is medium-short. Generally not my type of Riesling; bought on a tasting visit last year.
The tasting room/retail area is a hot mess, not sure anyone knows anything about the wines aside from what was printed on the tasting sheets, you're better off doing some homework before you walk through the doors. We couldn't wait to depart, but picked up two of the better bottles we tasted, this and a Gewürz. I'd only casually suggest passing them by, many other wineries in the region more worth your visit. (Wiemer is one example.)
