Medium ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, leather, asphalt and pepper spice. Pretty short and smoky finish. Very fruit forward and medium-plus bodied. Slightly chewy tannins and a bit high on acidity. Solid if not spectacular.

I love Blaufrankisch when it’s made in the simple fashion and is reminiscent of Cru Beaujolais. This one is more in an international style, so I found it less appealing.
