Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania

Galen Glen

Stone Cellar Grüner Veltliner

Ah Gruner.

Nice clear pale yellow.

Melon, mineral, tropical fruits, pineapple, and a bit of petrol.

Slight slight effervescent quality. Great, solid expression of gruner. Chalky, loamy, pineapple, and limestone.

Lehigh Valley Grüner Veltliner 2016

A crisp and “minerally” PA White. Straw gold in color with a green hue. Aromas of pear, straw and lemon grass. Flavors of pear, fresh thyme, and slate. Zippy acidity. Really good. — 5 years ago

Penns Woods

Reserve Merlot 2017

Fruit and spice on the nose. Very approachable on opening and remained consistently good two days later. Raspberries spice (cinnamon) and slight plum on the palate. Medium density. Moderate length finish. — 7 months ago

Pinnacle Ridge

Reserve Chambourcin 2013

Another solid vintage of this wine. Very similar characteristics as the 2012 Vintage. Pinnacle presents the best version of the Chambourcin grape in good growing years. — 5 years ago

Penns Woods

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Solid vintage year for the reserve cab. It’s one of the better balanced mid-Atlantic cabs you can find. It has the density and complexity of a top tier cab you’d expect from.more acclaimed Napa vineyards - but without the the ‘in your face’ tannins. Nice job Penn’s Woods! — 2 years ago

Lehigh Valley Cabernet Franc 2018

Who knew they made great wine in the Lehigh Valley? This is the top grape in the region according to the producer. Shockingly good. Ripe berries, delicious soil, and well balanced. Will be buying again. Thanks to Peggy @ Earth for hooking it up. A very nice first Pennsylvanian wine for me. — 3 years ago
