A crystalline pale gold color with a smattering of small bubbles and effusive creaminess. More than a bit coy on the nose to begin with but opens up after a decant. Notes of hot buttered toast and limestone show up along with grapefruit. Lemons and herbs with a touch of jasmine amazingly enough. Pine needles and citrus.

100% Chardonnay from Cramant , Chouilly, and Avize with no dosage, hence the name. Exquisitely bone dry and plenty of tart acidity. Undemanding with enough depth and character to keep you well interested. Aged three years on lees with partial malo. 20% reserve wines and disgorged in April of 2021 and I’m imagining this will be far more profound.

The attack is very lively and sumptuous with cream and herbs immediately. The citrus fruit on the palate it high toned and delicious. Just the suggestion of yeast here but it’s more than enough. Some nice chalk and minerality, as well. While the acidity is certainly zippy and the champagne is dry, this is a rather easy drinking Blanc de Blancs, perfect for anytime.
