Jun 4th, 2020Amber-hued, unfiltered and quite cloudy skin-contact 100% Albillo Real (indigenous variety from Gredos) by Fabio Bartolomei of Vinos Ambiz. Originally from Glasgow, Bartolomei ended up in El Tiemblo, Gredos somewhat by chance. He took over the village’s abandoned coop and now farms several small plots in the area, including El Charco del Cura, a small vineyard on the bank of the Alberche river at an altitude of 750m, where grapes for this wine were sourced from. Aged in amphorae for 6 months. Lightly smoky, floral nose. Tangerine and orange skins, some tropical fruits, loquat. Mineral, saline and bitter finish.
