Apr 6th, 2017My favorite of Vinkara's wines. These grapes are so unique. Think Cru Bojo but slightly more fuller bodied than a Pinot but far from a Syrah. Bright cherries backed by a bouquet of herbs that speak loudly on the nose but softy on the palate.

This is an interesting expression of our fave Turkish grape. Much more ripe, with dark cherries instead of the usual raspberry/strawberry. Plus maple and chocolate notes, and I swear bacon on the finish at first, but that dissipated after an hour open. Altogether lovely, but as usual for the region, sadly much too expensive for what you get.

Very interesting! The first hit is a vegetable garden. Green peppers spring onion herbs. There is s mineral quality that suggests a rocky soil or stone. Sweet notes are strawberry but herbal. Very different and very interesting.
