Vinhas de Pegões - Vinho Regional Península de Setúbal- Syrah 2024
Grill afternoon at the in-laws to celebrate my wife's father's name day. Bottle brought my wife's aunt. It's actually fuller than yesterday's Southern French Syrah I tasted. The nose is fruity with dark cherry, blackberry, black pepper. The palate is easy going, round, soft around the edges, good width, nice blackberry and black pepper notes all along, very gentle tannins, caressing the tongue. The finish is short, fruity, soft and easy going. This is a crowd pleaser but not an enthusiast's pick I'd say. Well done but a bit boring too, unfortunately.
