Feb 13th, 2017Really hazy dark dull purple. Nose of leather, metallic rustic notes, graphite, and no apparent fruit notes. So I decide to let it breathe. After 20 minutes of breathing, some strawberries notes show up, some cherry, and hotness from alcohol too, but still not too impressive. Taste of strawberries, some plum, cherry, polished acidity, and silky mouthful. This is the highlight of the tasting. Aftertaste is dominated by zest of orange or grapefruit peel, peppery, and medium short. A Grenache with good leather note is something that registered in my brain. After an hour of breathing, the wine does pull herself together, as sweet and hickory plum note and cherry mix well with the original metallic note.

Feb 3rd, 2017One of the most delicious wines I have ever tried. I admit to not knowing which Menguante Garnacha it was (in terms of vintage, varietal, etc), but I have not met another winery that could match this one ever since. Still, garnacha/grenache has been my favorite type of wine ever since, all because of this! ❤️❤️❤️
