Tree Kilpatrick

14.5% ABV ✅, dark purple stained cork ✅, heavy bottle ✅. This must be a big boy wine. Color is deep maroon edged in red. Smells like a wine cellar, a library in a mansion, and smokey fruits. Flavors are very robust even 9 years on. Plenty of tannic kick. Dark chocolate and coffee come to mind. Bittersweet. Slightly savory. Plenty of that ‘Petite-that-ain’t-small’ fullness and drying, purple teeth bite. It’s a beast. And it might take another 9-10 years to tame. But it’s true to the varietal. And would pair well with a rare steak or rack of lamb for sure. Nice bottle. I can’t believe I got it for $5 at Grocery Outlet.
